The valley of the River Gračnica and numerous hiking trails

The valley of the River Gračnica features picturesque, unspoilt nature that can be explored on numerous hiking trails.

The 6 km walking trail, also known as the Orion’s Trail, which follows the footsteps of ancient cultures (you can start walking on it just above the Marof Waterfall), is particularly interesting. In his book “V znamenju Oriona” (“In the Sign of the Orion”), Friar Karl Gržan explains that this area of three rivers, the Sava, Savinja, and Sotla, used to be the “centre of the world” with megalithic monuments placed there by ancient settlers, most likely of Celtic origin.
